Lab Members

Aneta Stachowich, PhD
Visiting Postdoctoral Fellow

Aneta Stachowich, PhD, is a visiting postdoctoral fellow from Poland investigating the role of protein arginine deiminases in the mechanisms underlying macrophage M1–M2 polarization. Her second project aims to investigate the cross-talk between fibroblasts and macrophages during tissue remodeling and fibrosis.

Brian Wayne Walker, PhD
Postdoctoral Fellow

Brian Walker, PhD, received his doctorate in chemical and biomolecular engineering from UCLA. His research focuses on the pathology of cardiomyopathy, with particular interest of the role of peptidylarginine deiminase/NFkB in cardiac hypertrophy, fibrosis, apoptosis and regeneration.

Rowann Mostafa, BS
Research Associate I

Rowann Mostafa received a bachelor of science in molecular cell biology and physiology from California State University, Long Beach. Mostafa works on the identification of citrullinated cardiac-specific autoantigens that appear to be involved in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis and can be detected in the sera of rheumatoid arthritis patients.

Saeed Seyed, PhD
Postdoctoral Fellow

Saeed Seyed, PhD, received his doctorate degree from the University of Cambridge, U.K., in biochemistry. His research interests include molecular and mass spectrometry tools for studying binding partners of peptidylarginine deiminase in eukaryotic cells.
