Community Outreach

Each year, Cedars-Sinai nurses staff over 20 Community Health Education and Screening programs for our community members. Programs are specifically designed to screen and improve the health of our seniors, members of our local church and synagogues, our LGBTQ community, our police officers and those that lack access to care.

Through our screenings, health education, flu immunization campaign, and connections to primary care providers for follow-up, we are improving the health and wellbeing of our community where we work, live and play.

Telemundo 52 la Feria de la Salud

Telemundo 52 la Feria de la Salud/Health and Wellness Fair are held annually at the Los Angeles Convention Center to help meet the health needs of the Los Angeles Hispanic community. Cedars-Sinai nurses offer health education and provide free health screenings for adults and children.

Community Health and Education

The Geri and Richard Brawerman Nursing Institute partners with the Community Health and Education (CHE) program to provide free clinical services at CHE's community-based events. Cedars-Sinai volunteer nurses may screen participants for high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol. During flu season, nurses provide immunizations. Health education and referrals are critical parts of the CHE outreach, as well.
